Latency
A downloadable game for Windows
Created by Thea (https://github.com/thea0032/), Autumn (https://autumns.page/), and Amelie (https://www.artstation.com/ameleaelmstreet) with help from Ryan and Cam (links TBA).
Gameplay:
You direct an army of units. Your goal is to protect your flag and destroy your opponent's flag.
You can do this by giving your units orders, to be executed at a certain time.
However, the further away the units are from your own position, the longer it takes for an order to be delivered - forcing you to apply a minimum delay based on how far away a tile is.
This forces you to think ahead.
To make the game easier, you are allowed to change your position to any tile you want, with a cooldown of ten turns. This can be used to increase your effectiveness when it comes to attacking your opponent, but might leave you vulnerable to your opponent's attacks.
This game is meant to be local multiplayer - you're supposed to play it on a laptop, and pass the screen between players. That doesn't prevent you from playing it yourself, of course.
Controls:
Open/close brace - manually adjust time delay
+/- - zoom in and out
right click - select source/destination of orders
left click - select order type in menu, delete order
enter - end turn
esc - quit game
UI:
Units are displayed on a grid. Orders are colored based on when they will execute. You can't see your opponent's orders.
Your own units are mostly grey. Your enemy's units are tinted red.
Known problems:
1) Some text and UI elements don't render in the correct place.
2) After the player is moved (by pressing P), the game's color map doesn't change until it's manually rerendered.
